Dining & Food - Fresh local Seafood
Our focus is on fish and shellfish much of it sourced from Gerry Sweeney, our local fisherman in New Quay who you will often see in the morning heading out to sea in his boat.
Seafood Specialities include: deviled crab, roast monkfish with sweet peppers and preserved lemon, langoustine and leek broth, creamy tagliatelle of clams and asparagus.
We grow our own organic vegetables and forage the shoreline for samphire and sea beet when in season.
A full Irish breakfast is complemented by Ally’s home baking, wild Burren jams and honey. Our organic eggs come from ‘Annie’s Ladies’ up the lane, bacon and sausages are locally sourced and seasonal mushrooms are fresh from the fields. Guests can catch mackerel along the shore to be grilled for breakfast.
Sunlit in the mornings, the dining room is at the front of the house overlooking the sea. Guests eat convivially at a single large table in the evening by candlelight with the glow of twilight reflecting off the cliffs opposite and the occasional boat sailing past.
There is a small but interesting cellar of predominantly French wines, with excellent vintages and some good and reasonably priced house wines.
